101 Ways to Transform Your Life by Dr Wayne Dyer

Image
Since I posted something earlier today for Transformation Tuesday, this post seems to be apropos. It seems as if everywhere I go, people are recommending audiobooks to me. At the cafĂ© and at the bar, people are telling me how listening to audio books have changed their lives in terms of being able to "read" books that they normally would not have been able to physically read.  In the past I tried to listen to audio books and found that it wasn't my "cup of tea." But not to be closeminded, I downloaded the Libby app to my phone and downloaded the following book: 101 Ways to Transform Your Life by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has been very easy to listen to and to follow. Now I am still currently digesting all 101 affirmations and I promise to post on all of them in future posts. But for this post, I wanted to talk about one of the things that stood out to me from almost the beginning. Dr. Dyer, who passed away in 2015, stated that we aren't a body with a so...

This is so true. While it takes a while for someone to feel and believe that they are a winner, you're point of view, stance and life changes tremendously when you finally do.  Take a good look in your mirror and repeat after me: I'm a fucking winner. Smile and repeat.  Let me know how that works out for you. Until Then Keep Stepping, #SiscoVanilla #SiscoVanillaisStepping #SiscoVanillaHitsTheBricks

What I Have to Deal With at Work June 11, 2018

What's up peeps. For those of you who don't know me personally, I have two jobs: Bartender at a bar in Brooklyn. You can read more about that here: SiscoVanilla Serves and Drinks   CafĂ© Manager at a chain bookstore cafĂ©. Unlike other chain coffee shops that have all their food shipped in boxes and plopped on display plates without any in store baking, we bake our pastries and cookies. Plus we have cheesecakes and other desserts that we sell, which as you all can imagine makes for a tough go when one is trying to lose weight. Here, take a look at what my team and I have to maintain daily: This doesn't even include the super sweet hot and cold drinks that we serve. Luckily for me I don't give a flying fig about those. I have my coffee or espresso with one packet of Sugar in the Raw Turbinado Sugar and a little Half and Half, Soy Milk or Almond Coconut Milk blend. But back to the snacks. The smell that permeates the cafĂ© when taking out a freshly bak...

The Happiness of Pursuit by Chris Guillebeau June 10, 2018

Welcome back gals and fellas. One of the things that I want to do with the blog is to highlight some of the books that I come across. One such book is the Happiness of Pursuit:Finding the Quest That Will Bring Purpose to Your Life by Chris Guillebeau . Here is how the book is described: A remarkable book that will both guide and inspire, The Happiness of Pursuit reveals how anyone can bring meaning into their life by undertaking a quest. So far the book is fascinating. It is chock full of stories of people who have undertaken quests for themselves from the runner who completed 250 marathons in one year to the woman who has dedicated herself to knitting 10,000 hats. The author himself has completed a major quest of visiting every country of the world. As you can see by his Instagram Tag: @193Countries , Guillebeau has visited 193 countries, doing so before the age of 35!  Now I don't know about you, but when I think of a quest, I think of the two stalwart friends Shrek...
